TAKE THE TRAINING & QUIZ: Learn about app features and how we use the RIMS data in less than 20 minutes and then take the quiz so you are an approved RIMS volunteer by our hike day. https://cmc.org/RIMS.aspx

LOGISTICS: We will meet at the north end of the dirt pullout in front of the The Fort Restaurant to sort carpools and equipment, driving away promptly by 6:30 am. The shared cost for each car is $48, divided by the number of people sharing the car, including the driver.
We will make a comfort stop along the way at the Bailey Loaf N Jug, 173 Bulldogger Rd x CR-43A. There is a traffic signal there. Turn right onto CR-43A to enter the Loaf N Jug. As a sign of appreciation for use of their clean facilities, at least some of us should buy coffee, a snack, etc.
The Rich Creek Trailhead will come up if you search for it on Google Maps. The drive is US-285 south past Fairplay, right on CR-5 then, after seven miles, turn right on CR-22. The Rich Creek TH will be about 2.9 mile ahead on the left. There are no restrooms there.
We will hike at a CASUAL pace so our Denver Conservation volunteer, Elizabeth Morgan, can demonstrate the RIMS app to us in a variety of situations. She also will answer your questions, so bring them! Active participation with your own phone and app is required. We may go out as far as four miles with about 1,400' of gain, stopping frequently for demos and practice, have lunch, and then return back downhill to the TH. Actual distance covered and time spent will depend on our stops and our pace.
