One fine body…
The course will train prospective leaders in safe and efficient climbing techniques on 5th class rock. Participants will learn the use of natural and artificial protection, construction of various types of climbing anchors, and practice single-pitch and multi-pitch leading techniques.
The course consists of an evening lecture session and three field trips.
Class participants must be current CMC members, able to follow moderately difficult rock climbs (at least 5.6), able to attend the lecture and all field trip sessions, and have attended BRS (Basic Rock School). Prior rock leading experience is not necessary and BRS skills equivalent course will be considered. Preference will be given to Boulder Rock School assistant instructors and CMC rock climb co-leaders.
