Youth Financial Assistance

**Financial Assistance Applications for 2022 Summer Camps are due May 15, 2022. **

 

YEP Adventure Camps

The CMC Youth Education Program (YEP) believes in outdoor education for all Colorado youth. Financial assistance is designed to make our programming more accessible to families. Applications are prioritized based on need, merit, and availability of funds. 

  • If you have more than one child, please fill out a separate application for each child.
  • We will contact you directly for any missing information and/or to let you know when award decisions have been made.
  • Colorado Mountain Club may request proof of previous year’s annual income in the form of a tax return and/or current pay stub.
  • You may submit your application at any time up until our deadlines.

Belay On - Carter Christensen Climbing Scholarship

Thanks to a generous donation from the Christensen family, merit based scholarships are available for YEP's Outdoor Rock Climbing Courses Summer Camps. The mission of the Carter Christensen Climbing Scholarship is to promote climbing education, ethics, and responsibility in the next generation of young climbers.       

Scholarship recipients receive:

  • Full tuition to attend a YEP Intermediate Climbing or Advanced Climbing Summer Camp
  • Free CMC membership for 1 year
  • Opportunities for continued mentorship through the CMC.

To apply, please send an email to staceyh@cmc.org and include the following: 

  • Participant's first and last name
  • Participant's contact information including address, phone number, and email
  • Parent/guardian name and contact information including address, phone number, and email (if different from participant)
  • Desired course name and session dates (if applicable)
  • A short-essay (~400 words) explaining why you would like to attend a CMC youth climbing course, what you hope to gain from the experience, how you might serve as a role model for responsible climbing.
