Small & Private Group Summer Camps

Colorado Mountain Club's Youth Education Program offers small and private group summer camp options. You bring the small group and we'll provide a fun-filled week of local adventure!

Discover life off the beaten path as you play games and learn new outdoor skills! YEP will work with you to craft the perfect 5 day experience for your group of up to 8 participants! All of our camps will focus on basic mountain safety skills, team building, leadership, and leave no trace principles through a combination of fun games, activities, and hiking in addition to some of the following options: Local Flora and Fauna Animal Tracks Survival Skills Knot tying Routefinding and Orienteering Mountain Weather And so much more! For participants entering grades 1st-8th

Trail Trekkers - Small & Private Group Summer Camp:

Weekly availability starts June 7th, 2021 and runs through August 2nd, 2021. Registration is on a first come first serve basis - Lock in your small groups week of adventure through our registration form below!

Maximum group size: 8 campers 

Cost: $1300 for up to 4 campers, additional $325 per camper - Lock in your registration soon for EarlyBird2021 Pricing!

Additional add-ons (available for groups within 10 miles of downtown Golden)

• Mobile Bouldering Bus ($15/camper)
• Indoor Rock Climbing at the American Mountaineering Center ($15/camper)
• American Mountaineering Museum (FREE)

Camp fees include instruction by health screened and trained youth outdoor educators, equipment use, activity materials, field journal, and snacks.

Time & Location: Camp meets 9:00am-2pm daily. Camps will take places in your backyard, neighborhood, park, or local open spaces. Each day we will build on new topics and explore different local outdoor areas throughout the week.

*YEP typically travels up to 15 miles (e.g. Golden, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Westminster, and West Denver areas) for Small Group Camps. If you would like us to meet your group more than 15 miles  from the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, we may charge an additional travel fee (dependent on distance/time to get to your location). 

Refund/cancellation policy: Requests made prior to 30 days before the beginning of this camp will be processed with a $10 handling fee. Requests made within 30 days of the school/event will be refunded at 50% of the amount paid. No refunds will be made 7 days prior to the event.  If the CMC cancels the class for any reason, a full refund will be issued.

* no partial refunds for single participants. It is up to your group to fill your reserved camper spaces. 

Read below for more information regarding our COVID-19 cancellation policies so your family can be at ease when choosing YEP for your summer camp experience. 

You will be permitted to cancel or reschedule with no additional fees: 

• If the United States federal government or state of Colorado authorities do not permit the CMC - Youth Education Program to operate throughout the summer of 2021, or if we feel we cannot run a safe, successful and healthy summer program. 
• If leading up to your child’s first day of camp: your child shows symptoms, or tests positive for COVID 19 and cannot attend.

Please know that If there is a need to cancel or reschedule, we will credit your registration fees towards a later experience, or issue you a refund in full. 

*CMC’s Youth Education Program follows Colorado Childcare Licensing guidelines for health, safety, and hygiene.  Please note that we will be taking extra precaution to ensure the safety of our participants and staff.
