The Steve Gladbach Education Fund provides support for mountain safety education through small grants. CMC members representing CMC School or Group Committees and CMC program staff may apply for funding for educational purposes that meet the emphasis of the fund on mountain safety education. The Steve Gladbach Education Fund was established in 2013 in honor of Steve Gladbach, a long-time member of the Colorado Mountain Club who was active in mountaineering education. The Fund provides support for mountain safety education through small grants. Donations to the fund are tax-deductible and accepted any time of year.
CMC members representing CMC School or Group Committees and CMC program staff may apply for funding for educational purposes that meet the emphasis of the fund on mountain safety education.
Examples of projects that fit the fund’s focus areas include but are not limited to: mountain safety training for CMC Groups, online lectures and/or webinars and mountaineering leadership training for high school students and young adults.
Recipients of funding from the Steve Gladbach Education Fund will be asked to submit a written report by July 1st of the year following the award or within 60 days of completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
This is a competitive grant, and it is possible that not all applicants will receive awards. Awards will typically range from $250 to $2,000.
