Many Colorado-raised climbers are now pushing cutting-edge grades, competing in world-class competitions and establishing first ascents in the great ranges. Who’s next? The Colorado Young Climber of the year honors the cream of the next generation’s crop, one male and one female 18 years or younger who display the potential for continued excellence through outstanding rock-, mixed- or ice-climbing accomplishments. As part of the future of climbing, nominees should also display a high degree of character through their respect for ethics, other climbers and the environment. If you or someone you know spent the last year dominating indoor competitions, crushing at the crag and/or leading difficult mixed or ice climbs, please fill out the application form below.
Ages 18 or younger. Must be a Colorado resident. CMC members and nonmembers are eligible.
The deadline to submit an application is Sept. 30, 2017. No late entries will be accepted.
