Explore the concepts of friction, force, and motion through an interactive physics experiment exploring the interaction between different shoe and rock types. Then apply your knowledge as you try out indoor rock climbing!

In our physics of climbing program, students will:

  • Experiment with different surfaces and shoe types to understand and measure friction
  • Use a spring scale to measure weight and learn how to calculate the coefficient of friction
  • Apply knowledge while rock climbing

Group Size: 10-30 students
