3^rd Grade                                    

• Science 3.1 Earth’s materials can be broken down and/or combined into different materials such as rocks, minerals, rock cycle, formation of soil, and sand –some of which are usable resources for human activity.
• Social Studies 2.1 Use various types of geographic tools to develop spatial thinking.

4^th Grade

• Science 2.2 Comparing fossils to each other or to living organisms reveals features of prehistoric environments and provides information about organisms today.
• Social Studies 2.1 Use several types of geographic tools to answer questions about the geography of Colorado.
• Social Studies 2.2 Connections within and across human and physical systems are developed.

5^th Grade

• Science 3.2 Earth’s surface changes constantly through a variety of processes and forces.
• Social Studies 2.1 Use various geographic tools and sources to answer questions about the geography of the Unites States.
• Social Studies 2.2 Causes and consequences of movement.

Upon registering for your program, you will receive a confirmation with your program contract, other essential info, and student liability waivers. Students will not be able to participate in a rock climbing program without a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. 

Indoor Rock Climbing:

As part of your child’s field trip, they will be rock climbing on a top rope in which the climber is attached to a rope that passes up through an anchor system and back down to a belayer. 

Please ensure your child is prepared for the trip with the following:

• A signed liability waiver (attached) – Your child will not be able to participate in climbing without this.
• Closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes for climbing            
• Packed lunch and/or snacks – Please help us protect our carpet and do not pack any drinks other than water.

Bouldering Bus

• Students will be climbing inside the bus on an artificial wall. The floor is composed of deep, thick pads, at least 3 inches thick.
• Mostly students climb along the low walls, so falling is minimized. Students will be spotted to prevent any dangerous falls.

Program Spaces: We a large parking lot with safe access for children to park the bus and run our climbing program.
